U.S. Marine Corps Selects General Dynamics Prototype for Next Phase of Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle Competition

Company aligns with USMC’s transformational approach for future capability

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – The U.S. Marine Corps has chosen General Dynamics Land Systems’ prototype proposal to move ahead in the service’s Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle (ARV) competition.

“General Dynamics Land Systems has aligned with the Marine Corps’ 10-year transformational initiative, a key portion of which seeks to build a 21st-century reconnaissance capability that is highly mobile on land and in the water,” said Phil Skuta, General Dynamics Land Systems Director of Business Development, U.S. Marine Corps and Navy. “This innovative, multi-domain capability will be able to control air and ground robotics and provide critical reconnaissance information through onboard and networked sensors.”

“Our collaborative industry team is focused on early integration of transformative technologies – advanced next generation electronic architecture, artificial intelligence, autonomy and robotics – required to deliver this capability,” said Don Kotchman, Vice President and General Manager for U.S. Operations. “We have ensured the growth margins and modular open architecture necessary to rapidly incorporate new technology.”

Kotchman said that, as a long-term partner of the U.S. Marine Corps, General Dynamics Land Systems brings a track record of developing, producing and supporting combat solutions for its global customers. The company seeks to enter into the next successful chapter of this relationship and provide advanced reconnaissance solutions.

A business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), General Dynamics Land Systems provides innovative design, engineering, technology, production and full life-cycle support for land combat vehicles around the globe.
